The Twitter “Fail Whale” logo made an unfortunate reappearance on Wednesday. The symbol of technical problems was a frequent site for users of the social media site, as InformationWeek reports that the site was experiencing a series of technical glitches and full crashes through most of the day. Things did not improve on Thursday, as Twitter was again plagued by a number of crashes and other issues that made it difficult to impossible for users to Tweet or read other posts.
Although Twitter did not say the cause for Thursday’s problems, the company did say that Wednesday’s outages were caused by a networking equipment error.
“We are experiencing site availability issues — additional latency and errors — this morning,” Twitter wrote Wednesday on its site. “We’re working to address these issues.”
