Twitter announced Friday the release of Twitter for Android available in Android Market. According to the company blog post, Android 2.1 will allow users to access their timelines with the home screen widget, view tweet locations on maps, and read latest tweets in the phonebook, GoogleTalk list or any application that uses Android’s QuickContact bar.
Google plans to open source the code used in Android 2.1 in the near future.
