The New Year brings with it new predictions about everything from the economic climate to marketing trends. Want to know what 2011 has in store for social media? According to popular technology blog ReadWriteWeb’s “The 10 Ways Social Media Will Change in 2011,” companies will integrate social feedback into their decision making process.
Last year marked an influx of companies finally using social media for the purpose of building awareness and providing support. However, according to ReadWriteWeb, in 2011 these companies will harness the power of the social engine to “inform strategic decisions, and execute on the organization’s objectives, marketing plans, product roadmaps and more.”
“It’s not just about technology, it’s about a fundamental shift into a new age of leadership with new type of executives who behave and operate in new ways,” Marc Benioff, chairman and CEO of Salesforce.com, told the popular technology blog.
The blog predicts there will be more companies in 2011 such as Zappos and Amazon that will be known for their socially-informed innovation, customer focus and work environment.
